Kev & Cosmo are doing it again; The Celluoid Jam 2 Convention is coming June 1st & 2nd. More details are available on their website, and check back soon for special guest appearances to be announced!

And if you think it's a great way to start your summer, you know it's a great way to end it, too! Labor Day weekend is The Last Rocky Con (because the world is going to end in December).

Hanging Up Our Fishnets

The Beautiful Creatures have hung up their fishnets. The cast began it's retirement transition right after Halloween of 2011. The cast was handed over to a new troupe, The Royal Mystic Order of Chaos, who will carry on the shadow-cast tradition at The River Oaks Theatre.

The Beautiful Creatures originally formed in 1998 and performed weekly through 2001. They regrouped and returned in 2005 for the film's 30th anniversary which kicked off a successful monthly run through 2011. Thank you for making us a part of your Saturday night debauchery and we hope you keep on Time Warpin'!

The Beautiful Creatures are working on a new website that will go public soon. In the meantime you can keep current with them on their Facebook page. Saturday's show (Feb. 11th) is Lingerie night!

This website will become a more general-purpose site for Rocky Horror in (and around) Houston. Facebook has a new group for Houston Alumni (past performers) that already has over 100 members and a growing photo collection. It is a closed group, so please "request" if you want to join.

Great convention and a great cast assembled with performers from coast to coast. Representing The Beautiful Creatures, Mina had a costume booth for Columbia's Closet, met Patricia Quinn and Gary Shail (Oscar Drill from Shock Treatment), and also met up with some performers from Ft. Worth that we'd love to have guest perform!

Recognize the tank? It's from The Beautiful Creatures from 2001. It was sold when the original cast went defunct to a cast in Indiana. From there it migrated East and now lives with the Home Of Happiness cast in New Jersey.

Patricia Quinn showing her appreciation of Shawn as Rocky! The House Of Blues had an incredible stage and it was awesome seeing the toilet paper stream from the balcony level!

Shock Treatment is coming!

The River Oaks Theatre will be screening the 35mm print of Shock Treatment on March 18th and 19th at midnight. There will be a live cast shadowing select numbers during the Saturday night show. If you would like to be involved, e-mail Mina at SewEccentric@yahoo.com for details.

What is Shock Treatment? It's not exactly a sequel to Rocky Horror, but it does have Brad and Janet. Most people agree the music (by Richard O'Brien) is every bit as good, but the plot is a little meandering.

If you feel disappointed, keep in mind that this film was on the tails of the Screen Actors Guild strike in 1979 that froze production funds. Locations were nixed and the budget was slashed. Tim Curry, Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon all turned down roles, but you'll see Richard O'Brien, Patricia Quinn, Little Nell and Charles Gray.

Rehearsal: December 10th

The Beautiful Creatures will be holding a cast rehearsal on Friday, December 10th at the River Oaks Theatre, 11:00 PM. We will meet upstairs in the lounge area and move into the downstairs theater when it becomes available. We will be running through the entire film. Performers are expected to know their lines and movements - this is a blocking rehearsal.

We will also allow interested performers to audition - please come prepared to perform the character and scene of your choice. If you have a costume, even better.

Last night the Beautiful Creatures descended on the Houston Museum of Natural Science Halloween Mixer. Molly & The Ringwalds were rocking the show and were gracious enough to let us sing the Time Warp with them. It was pretty awesome! And we saw some amazing costumes there - even more Rocky Horror costumes!

Then we headed over to the River Oaks Theatre to perform to a sold out crowd. Thank you to everyone who made it out, and we can't wait to do it again tonight! If you haven't already, get your tickets online.

Rocky Horror Glee Episode

Unless you've been living in a remote rain forest or just escaped from a North Korean prison, you've probably heard about the upcoming "Rocky Horror" episode of Glee that will air October 26th. You can pre-order the music that will be released on October 19th.
